Handling and operation
In this chapter you receive important information for the handling and operation
of the appliance.
Charging the battery
This appliance is equipped with a low-maintenance and securely sealed lead-
acid battery. To obtain an optimum service life for your battery, pay heed to the
following instructions:
Before the fi rst use, fully charge the battery over 24 hours using the supplied
mains po
wer adapter

Avoid a deep discharging of the battery. In the event of decreasing bright-
ness, switch the appliance off
and recharge the battery. Never operate the
appliance without it being under supervision.
Do not store the appliance uncharged, instead, recharge the battery imme-
diately af
ter using the appliance. The battery will be damaged if it is placed
into storage in a discharged condition.
A battery discharges itself during prolonged storage. If the appliance is not
to be tak
en into use over an extended period, recharge the battery at least
every three months.
Switch the Cordless Handheld Spotlight off completely (On/Off switch

at the position “0”).

Insert the plug of the mains power adapter

a vehicle.
The charging process begins and the red charge status indicator

lights up. When the battery is fully charged, the green charge status indica-
tor

lights up additionally.
NOTICE
The charging time is approximately 15 hours, but with a very discharged
batter
y it may extend for about 1 to 2 hours.
Bear in mind that when charging via the car adapter, energy is extracted
fr
om the car battery. Accordingly, when possible charge the appliance
only with the engine running, so that the readiness status of the vehicle
battery remains constant.
